Today we went through chapter 24 (inference with 2-sample means). If you are doing the reading on your own, be advised that we are NOT using pooled procedures for means, so skip that part from the reading.

Homework is:

Ch 24 p.566, #2, 5, 6, 7, 10b, 17, 24, 30, 34 (sparrow and robin ONLY)

A couple of items…

Both sides of this worksheet given out after the test in class: 2009B #1 and #4.pdf
Go back to Chapter 18, and work #25, parts (c) and (d). We are about to get into inference with means, so work this problem that deals with sampling distributions of means.
READ pp 520-523 (the first 4 pages of Chapter 23)

Be advised that we are moving quickly this next week, so if you plan on missing class, try to get a classmate to take good notes for you (or read the book?). By the end of next week, we will be through Chapter 24.

First off, here are the problems, but finish reading BEFORE you work them:

Instructions:

First, describe the type of problem for each of these six problems.

Then, choose at least 3 (a.k.a., 3 or more) of the problems to do completely. Notice that all but one of the questions has answers by BOB. You must be more complete than BOB, but he can help you know if you are heading in the right direction.
